Description
The Laval Palliative Care Home (MSPL) was established in 2010 in Laval. The Laval Palliative Care Home offers free specialized palliative care to individuals aged 18 and over in the terminal phase of illness. The MSPL provides 12 private rooms. Service areas are also available for the patient and their loved ones: lounge, meeting room, library, outdoor terrace, etc. The non-profit organization provides 24-hour care and services through an interdisciplinary team consisting of doctors, a pharmacist, a social worker, nurses, auxiliary nurses, attendants, volunteer caregivers, and support staff working together to improve the comfort and quality of life of the individual. Accommodation at the MSPL is offered free of charge for the duration of the person's stay. The Home purchases medications, but the costs are covered by the individual's private insurance or the Quebec Health Insurance Board (RAMQ).
