The Bayview CHSLD is a private funded long-term care facility, under contract with the Minister of Health and Human Services. Located in Pointe-Claire, West-Island, CHSLD Bayview borders on Lac Saint-Louis in the heart of the West Island community in Montreal. Bayview was founded in 1956 and now provides a home to 128 adults. The Bayview CHSLD is designated as an English-services institution. Bayview comprises four care units, with a unit especially designed for residents with cognitive deficits. There are 32 residents per care unit and each unit includes a nursing station, a dining room, a shower/bath room and common areas. Rooms are private, with the exception of one semi-private room per unit. Each room is equipped with a bell connected directly to the nursing station and is furnished with an adaptive bed, a desk and a night table.
