La Maison L’Étincelle is a private seniors’ residence located in Verdun, specializing in caring for seniors living with memory disorders or major neurocognitive disorders.
Its unique environment is inspired by a small village neighborhood, featuring a bistro, a general store, and a library. This familiar and reassuring atmosphere creates a stimulating, warm, and welcoming living environment tailored to the residents’ needs.
The residence is divided into three intimate, human-scale households:
- Jardin Household, distinguished by its abundant natural light and direct access to a secure interior courtyard.
- Éthel Household and Strathmore Household, which also offer a warm and welcoming environment designed around common areas that encourage social interaction and connections among residents.
Every aspect of the environment has been thoughtfully designed to promote well-being and reduce anxiety. Care is provided discreetly, nature is incorporated throughout the environment, and visual distractions are minimized to create a calm and soothing living space.
The activities offered are inspired by Dutch occupational stimulation models and are adapted to each resident’s interests, abilities, and pace, helping promote participation, independence, and overall well-being in their daily lives.
