<\/span><b>I\u2019ve seen firsthand how challenging it has become<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to secure an apartment in the Montreal area. <\/span><b>Waiting lists can now stretch up to two years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>two-bedroom apartments (4\u00bd) are extremely rare<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 the same goes for smaller units like studios. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reality is simple: <\/span><b>the supply of new <a href=\"https:\/\/residences-quebec.ca\/en\/retirement-homes\/-\/6~montreal\">senior residence<\/a> constructions can\u2019t keep up with the growing demand.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>Limited Options and Rising Selectivity<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some availability remains, particularly for <\/span><b>3\u00bd apartments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but <\/span><b>4\u00bd units are increasingly scarce<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because of this, <\/span><b>residences can afford to be more selective<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> about whom they accept. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Montreal, there is currently <\/span><b>one <a href=\"https:\/\/residences-quebec.ca\/en\/retirement-homes\/7~private-unfunded-long-term-care-facility\/6~montreal\">private CHSLD<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and several <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/residences-quebec.ca\/en\/retirement-homes\/28~category-4\/6~montreal\"><b>full-care residences<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with limited openings \u2014 though <\/span><b>costs remain quite high<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interestingly, <\/span><b>the Montreal West area shows slightly better href=\"https:\/\/residences-quebec.ca\/en\/retirement-homes\/28~category-4\/6~montreal\">non-autonomous apartment <\/a><\/b>i<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n<\/span><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> Montreal\u2019s West Island<\/strong> in 2025*<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is <\/span><b>$4,902.14<\/b><b> per month.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the west island, there is currently <\/span><b>one private CHSLD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and several <\/span><b>full-care residences<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">
